  The canton of Grisons cultivates mainly Pinot Noir. This vine represents nearly 90 % of the Rheintal’s production, the balance being made up the white vines Riesling x Sylvaner and Le Completer(an aromatic and generous white wine and a typical local speciality) produced exclusively in the "Herrschaft" region. The red vine Federweisser is restricted for making red wine. The region produces also some rosé wines, known as Süssdruck and Schiller.

The Mesolcina region produces mainly Merlot and a variety of a Hybride Rouge.
