Vines cultivated
As most of the vineyards in Eastern Switzerland, the canton of Thurgau cultivates mainly two vines: the Pinot Noir and the Riesling x Sylvaner. These two vines represent 95 % of the viticultural production of the canton. The Riesling x Sylvaner produces a very fine and fruity wine. As to the Pinot Noir they are rather light. There is also a small quantity of Pinot gris and Gewürztraminer.
