Vines cultivated
The viticultural production of the canton of Zurich is made up of 40 % of white wines and 60 % of red wines. The canton produces elegant white wines and very tannic red wines with much character, suitable for aging. The Riesling x Sylvaner is cultivated throughout the canton. Certain regions produce better results than others for specific vines. In particular, this applies to the Räuschling for the region of Meilen on the shores of the Lake Zurich and the banks of the Limmat; the Pinot Gris for the region of Flurlingen and the Pinot Noir for the shores of Lake Zurich and Stäfa specifically.
