Varieties of white vines
  Sauvignon blanc

From this vine very fine and characteristic dry wines can be produced. The aromatic flavours of this vine are fairly specific; they can vary according to the siol and the cultivation conditions. The experiments conducted in the French-speaking parts of Switerland seem to indicate that it has not as much plasticity as the red Bordeaux vines for exemple. If harvested late or in the presence of Botrytis cenerea, it can also be used in the production of great liqueur-type wines (Sauternes).
