Varieties of red vines
  Diolinoir

This is a recent vine, but experimenting with it can offer great satisfaction. It gives fine, round and pleasant wines, which may be drunk as such or blended with other red wines. They seem to be able to age well but this still remains to be demonstrated. The Diolinoir is also interesting for its resistance to rot, the colour of its wine and the mellow character or its tannins. It is a later variety than the Pinot and it ripens between the Gamay and the Merlot. It cannot, therefore, be planted in all the vineyards of our country because its grapes require perfect maturity to express their qualities. It should find a place on the good slopes, in the shelter of the walls.
